Day Two, Diet with Dianna

Hello! Day Two of Diet with Dianna.

I have to say that I was surprised with day one, first, because I didn't feel hungry, secondly, the day went by so fast.  In the back of my mind, I had set a timer for the next meal. I kept looking at my watch thinking that the next meal was only three hours away and I'm not hungry, yet. Yes, I was busier than normal in my daily routine, but the time between the meals went so quick. I had to force myself to eat. Yet, I only ate a small amount and I was still full and never got hungry.

I'm wondering, though. If I weren't so busy...slightly bored...would the time pass quickly? Will I still have the same feelings of fullness?  We'll see.

REVELATION KNOWLEDGE:

  1. I sometimes will skip meals because I am too busy or just not hungry. But, now that I think about it, when I skip a meal, I am ravenous for the next meal and have a tendency to overeat. Duh! I suppose that is what I am supposed to learn, here? Don't skip meals and my insulin levels stay balanced/normal  throughout the day. Okay...I can be taught.  Now, I just have to get the idea to stick. I must not skip meals...I must not skip meals...I must not skip meals.
  2. I was not sleepy after a meal. I didn't have the lethargic feelings of needing nap. My energy levels stayed fairly balanced, no yo-yo-ing.
FACT: Leftover points unused from the day before, DO NOT carry over to the next day. They are not like cell phone minutes...no rollovers!

Breakfast:

Egg Sandwich with two slices of bacon, cheddar cheese and two eggs scrambled. This time I lightly buttered the Multi Grain Sandwich Thins by Oroweat (22 carbs and 2 grams of sugar = S/C 2/2). Coffee (regular) with half & half and half a package of Stevia.

Total Breakfast: 2/2 (slightly more than yesterday because of the bread)

AGAIN, I am full to the point of nearly stuffed and my little doggy friends helped me eat some of my sandwich. :D

Lunch:

Chicken Fajitas Wrap with cheese and baby spinach and a little balsamic oil and vinegar.
Small mixed salad with broccoli, shredded jack and cheddar cheese. (I confess that I ate one small grape tomato that was in the salad from yesterday and I will count it).
Large glass of Iced tea with one packet of Truvia.

Sugar/Carbohydrates broken down:

        • One La Banderita Soft Taco, Low Carb/Low Fat, 11 g carbs, 5 g Protein, 0 g sugar = 1/0
        • Handful of Chicken Fajitas 0/0 (I bought family pack of boneless-skinless tenderloins for a $1.99 lb. @ Kroger and cooked it up yesterday, cut into bite sizes and put in refrigerator for lunches).
        • Baby Spinach leaves for wrap about seven leaves. 0/0 (Good fiber & good vitamins.)
        • Shredded Cheddar and Monterrey Jack cheese, handful in wrap. 0/0
        • Mixed salad with about 2 tablespoons of Newman's Lighten Up Balsamic Vinaigrette 2/0
        • Large glass of Iced Tea with 1 packet of Truvia 0/0
        • Oh, and my one grape tomato (1/2 cup is equal to 2 sugars and 0 carbs. Since I only ate one, I'll count it as 1/0...that's only fair.) 1/0
    Total Lunch S/C = 4/0

    Snack:
    1/2 cup of cashews 1/1

    Dinner:
Tonight's meal was not planned; I didn't have time to prepare. It was a busy day. Thank God I had stuff in the fridge from shopping day before yesterday. I put this together in less than thirty minutes. It is a strange combination, but it fits the diet plan.

Small pepperoni pizza on half an Oroweat sandwich thin. 2/2 (sauce and 1/2 a bread make up this higher count)
1 cup of sautéed summer (yellow) squash 2/0
1 cup mixed salad with dressing and cheese 0/0 (it would have counted for more except it was a smaller amount).
    1 cup white wine  1/0

    Total Dinner S/C  3/2

    Daily Total: 10/5
Too bad, I went over in the sugar department. I'll do better tomorrow. I still congratulate myself on a better day of eating healthier. I will still lose weight, even with the overages in the sugars!

    EXERCISE:
Even though the book says that you can lose weight without exercising, I still walk every night because it is a habit and good for my body/heart. I've been walking about 1 to 2 miles a day for about three years; walking with my dog and usually someone in my family.

Tonight I walked about 1.5 miles, at 10 p.m.  (Hey, It's June in Texas...you don't walk during the day if you don't like to sweat.)

      1. Well I'll say one thing, it all looks good, and all that math is making me hungry. So, you know... there's that. ;)
