Welcome to my Diet with Dianna Blog. Today is my first day on the 3-Hour Diet by Jorge Cruise. I received the book yesterday and read the entire book, cover to cover. So here goes...
I am 5' 9" tall and I should have a waist measurement of less than 34"-35" (inches).
My belly measurement, Oh, Dear Lord, I cannot believe I am actually printing this out for anyone to see and read...I am so embarrassed!
My waist size is a whopping 46". This is horrible. Now I know why I cannot cross my legs or bend over to tie my shoes. I see the picture in my mind of the kid from Home Alone, as he slapped his face looking in the mirror and then yelling...I am laughing instead of crying because it is so ridiculous to have such a big belly.
My measurement was taken around my waist starting at the navel...just in case you would like to know...
This morning I started with the menu for the first week, with variations.
Day One, Breakfast:
2 scrambled eggs with cheese and two slices of bacon, wrapped in a Mission Tomato Basil tortilla, and coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 and one packet of Truvia.
My Total count (as I figured it according to the book) is 0/2
NOTE: This was way too much for me to eat. I got full after just half and my cute dogs helped me by eating the other half of the wrap. Sorry Jorge!
Lunch: I had intended to eat at home, preparing my meal, but I had to run a errand. It too way longer than I had anticipated and had to grab lunch out because the three hours was going to pass before I could return home. Britt and I stopped at Chick-Fil-A and grabbed their grilled chicken salad. We tossed the croutons and got their Lite Italian dressing. 1 sugar for 2 Tablespoons. We poured the dressing into the lid and dipped our lettuce instead of pouring all over.
This was not a lunch menu item, but I substituted the dinner salad with grilled chicken for lunch, since it is imperative that I eat every three hours. IT was entirely too big of a salad. Britt and I could have shared one container. It looked like a whole head of lettuce. I took off the tomatoes and carrots and ate the salad and chicken.
I was still full from breakfast, but I forced myself to eat five or six bites before replacing the lid and bringing the extra home to put with the dinner menu.
S/C = 1/1 (I think? I'm not sure about counting/converting yet, but better to add one and not need it than vice versa).
Dinner:
Well, dinner was fun and sort of a repeat of lunch, only much better because it was made fresh at home with an added side dish.
Tonight's dinner consisted of salad with seared chicken (Skinless boneless tenderloins, that is), seasoned in fajitas spices, a little garlic powder and onion powder, and olive oil. I made sure to cook it on a hot skillet and caramelized the chicken, which made it super yummy!
I placed three of the seared chicken pieces over my lettuce and used two tablespoons of Newman's Lighten Up Balsamic Vinaigrette and some shredded cheddar cheese. YUM!
My side dish was steamed broccoli florets, seasoned with butter, lemon juice, garlic, onion powder, 1 packet of Truvia, salt and pepper.
Wade, my husband, said the chicken was very moist and flavorful and the broccoli was really, really good!
(I'm going to post pictures, but Blog Spot is doing maintenance and it isn't working right now...I do it later.)
NOTE: I haven't had any snacks today, just because I am too full to eat any additional food! This is way too much food to eat. I felt full all day and never felt hungry. Really, I stayed full most of the day. I'm not accustomed to this constantly satisfied feeling. Hopefully it will be this way, every day.
