Week 36, Wednesday, Diet with Dianna

"'My food,' said Jesus, 'is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.'" John 4:34 (NIV)

Wednesday! Oh it was great! I volunteered in the church offices, ate lunch with my favorite sweetheart, ate healthy all day, and exercised! GREAT DAY!

My bible study group is tomorrow and I am so excited. I have been focusing on God and not food in this study. AWESOME. I'm growing spiritually and losing physically because I'm getting to the root of the problem. My soul hungers for God. I can eat healthy, by choice, and not sabotage my healthy lifestyle by eating the wrong foods.  I want healthy physical food! I crave soul (spiritual) food! I plan to succeed! I'm a Jesus girl!

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. Have you ever heard that phrase? Well, it’s true. You need a plan; a plan or list of foods that you can eat. Purchase those foods and presort them in bags for times of desperation. Desperation breeds degradation. Miriam Webster's dictionary defines these two words:
Desperation is an emotional state of mind of a person who feel as if they are left with no options, and therefore will make rash decisions and are more willing to accept any option that is available to them despite their preference. Desperation can refer to panic.Degradation is to decline to a low, destitute, or demoralized state -- moral or intellectual degeneration.

When you're really pressed for time, after a long day at work, you've stopped to pick up the the cleaning, put gas in your car, picked up more dog food...and...you hear the rumblings from your stomach. "Oh, not now! I don't have time!" You are so busy, you still have one more stop to make before you can get home to cook dinner. Your stomach is screaming at you, "I'm starving!" You look around the car for some gum or a stray stale cracker...something but you find NOTHING! Your panicked and you look out your window and see the golden arches. Angels sing, "Hallelujah".  You hear the word, "FRIES", you manically steer your towards the drive thru to fill your desperation! Oh, this is sad, very sad. You've degradated yourself to desperation and now you've sabotaged your diet for some greasy, fattening, high calorie, fried, string potatoes! And...you have to wash the fried food down with a wet sugary liquid, which is also high in calories...but wait, you got diet soda...that's better. AHHH!

How could this happen? You failed to plan this situation. Had you planned ahead, you wouldn't have had make an emergency run to the drive thru for some unhealthy, quick fix, choices.
If you had taken the time to plan, you would have shoved some carrot sticks or raisin and nut trial mix into a baggie and shoved it in your purse. Then, when the hunger monster growled, you could have quickly snagged the bag of delicious, HEALTHY food; the food you PREPARED ahead of time. The food that would have stayed off the hunger pangs until after you had gotten home and had time to cooked dinner. Your healthy diet could have been saved! Why? Because you planned ahead! You took the time necessary and prepared to thwart off failure.

Don’t get caught in a desperate hunger situation. Don't degrade yourself into a panic situation because you forgot to plan for your busy schedule. Plan to make time. Plan to prepare. Sacrifice the television show for ten minutes (or the commercial break) and stuff a few baggies with healthy choices, for just such an emergency! Plan to succeed!

Go me! Go success! You are wonderfully made!
