Week 14, Day 2, Diet with Dianna

Ooh! I felt the best so far. I'm getting back my energy and strength. Yippee!! It feels good. I had enough energy to go to the grocery store and mega warehouse. I felt a little bit sluggish as the day went on, but I made it and that's good.
I ate only two meals today; I only got up around 9:30 a.m. so that messed up my entire day. It was good to sleep in and get some extra rest.

No exercise---yet.

Revelation Knowledge:
It's important, whether you believe it or not, to get encouragement. There are people who are encouragers and they help keep the drive for success alive. My husband is a great encourager. He makes sure to give my vocal and written support. I didn't think I would need it or appreciate it, but it has been very, very nice to hear and see. I am having to eat crow...thank goodness it's sugar free and carb free. It bruises the ego some, but my ego needs to be brought back to reality.  Thanks Sweetie for all your support. I give you some praise and encouragement in return! :D

Breakfast:
Missed it.

Lunch:
Two beef tacos:
Lunch S/C: 1/2

No Snack:  Not hungry!

Supper/Dinner:
Salad and fried mushrooms and a slice of dark rye bread! (Saltgrass) YUM!
Dinner S/C: 1/2

Daily S/C: 2/4

Week 14, Day 1, Diet with Dianna

A Much better day! A bit hungover from feeling bad; no energy. My daughter and I got our chores done; cleaning. I managed to finish the laundry but that's about it. I ran down quick and moved from couch to chair to bed the rest of the day...after 3:30 p.m. when I finally got finished with all laundry.
Tomorrow is going to be better!
Weight Loss total since the start: 16lbs.,
My waist measurement is 39.5" so I've lost 5.5 inches! Whoo-Hoo!

Revelation Knowledge:
I've noticed that even without any aerobic exercise I am still losing weight. I can only imagine that the weight would be coming off much quicker if I were to exercise more regularly. That is a goal, anyway!

No exercise: I'm not sitting around like a couch potato, but I'm not doing a regular routine on exercise.

Breakfast:
Biscuit with gravy and two slices of bacon; coffee the usual way.
Breakfast S/C: 2/2

No Snack:

Lunch @ 3p.m. LATE but I was busy and didn't feel like eating.
Two chicken tenders and a few waffle fries from Chick-Fil-A
Lunch S/C: 1/2

No dinner...not hungry.

Daily S/C: 3/4  (I figured high but that doesn't matter, it's just a way of keeping track)

Week 13, Day 7, Diet with Dianna

Sunday Morning!  I ate homemade whole wheat biscuits this morning. I made plenty for my daughter and I to eat for the week. Yum! They were moist and flaky! I accidently put too much baking powder in the mix, but they turned out really, really good! Maybe I'll keep the recipe with the extra ingredients. I topped my biscuit with some melted butter and some sugar free syrup on one half and sugar free grape jam on the other. Oh! Sweet Grandma! These were good!

The rest of my day was poop! The cold has lingered on and I was still slightly queasy and didn't eat much. I did eat another biscuit with gravy for supper but that upset my stomach before I went to bed. YUCK! I hate feeling bad!

No exercise and no snacks. I drank some Sprite Zero and water with lemon! That's about it.

I will count my daily S/C as 2/2

Week 13, Day 6, Diet with Dianna

Let's see. Saturday was a bust. I didn't feel well most of the day and so I only ate breakfast, which was made for my by my sweet husband. He made it for me special, since I couldn't eat the sugary stuff they were eating. He is a keeper. Love you, honey!
The rest of the day was spent in bed or the bathroom. Not fun. I'm better, today (Sunday) when I'm writing yesterday's blog, and ready to eat food.

The family ate Domino's Pizza for supper. It sure smelled good, but my stomach was on strike. I plan on eating a slice for lunch or dinner, today. I bought their super thin crust, light sauce and cheese. They cut them in squares instead of wedges and they are smaller in size. I can eat two slices and keep it under 1/1, S/C.  Even if I were to act a hog and eat three or four slices, I would still be in the realm of safety for my S/C. NICE!
I laid in bed most of they day...YUCK!

Breakfast:
One fried egg (a bit over done but edible! Thanks sweetie). two slices of bacon, two round thins for toast, and coffee!
Breakfast S/C: 1/1

No meals the rest of the day - not feeling well.

Snacks: I did eat a few thin pretzel chips so I'll count them:
S/C: 1/2

Daily S/C: 2/3

Week 13, Day 5, Diet with Dianna

Well, I spent all of Thursday night in the emergency room with my eldest son and all of Friday at Urologist office. My son was in a lot of pain from a 2mm (very, very small) kidney stone! VERY PAINFUL! I hate seeing anyone in pain and especially my son. After a lot of pain medication he was sent to a urologist for further treatment and possible surgery.

The specialist advised us to avoid surgery and sent us home with different medications and a list of objectives to help pass the kidney stone. Lots of fluids and muscle relaxers. Not wanting to mix meds with alcohol, but he suggested to stay well hydrated during the day, drink one to two beers in the evening in order to help flush stones and prevent future stones! Limit dairy and calcium and by all means stay hydrated!

It is just so amazing how our bodies react to certain foods and vitamins in our bodies. Too much of anything can potentially be bad for our human bodies. Too much calcium can sometimes cause gall stones and kidney stones. That with not enough liquids going in, could be very dangerous and painful.
I have a new vision for my family and that is to make sure that we all stay hydrated with water. I don't want to swing the pendulum in the total opposite direction and over hydrate, which can also be very dangerous.
It is so important to get the right amounts of fluids and foods.

REVELATION KNOWLEDGE:
It is very confusing and difficult to know all these things that we should eat and not eat, drink, and not drink, and just how much of it all? I am so blessed to have my GOD that I rely on for instruction and provision, and most importantly, wisdom to make the right decisions. That's the only way I can do any of this! Really!

Breakfast:
Egg, bacon, toast, coffee
Breakfast S/C: 1/1

Lunch:
Wendy's (half a hamburger and a few fries).
Lunch S/C: 2/2

Dinner:
Beef Taco and combo burrito
Dinner S/C: 1/2

Week 13, Day 4, Diet with Dianna

There is always something going on in our family circus (oops! Did I say that out loud?). I ran errands and ate a late lunch, sort of skipped dinner ate two snacks, watched some television, took my eldest son back to the hospital (kidney stone), didn't sleep all night, grabbed a power nap at 6:30 a.m. today, took a shower, fixed breakfast....it's a day that blurred into the next. ONE VERY LONG DAY, at the circus.

Revelation Knowledge:
Even at the circus you get to eat peanuts! Peanuts are a good snack, I really enjoy them and they help take away the munchies. Good choice for a snack.

No exercise officially, but I did walk from parked car to court house, up stairs, down stairs, walked in parking lot...so I was moving most of the day, just not exercising.

Breakfast:
No breakfast.

Lunch:
Taco Cabana, had brisket nachos and some rice.
Lunch S/C: 1/2

Dinner:
Too full from lunch.

Snack:
Ate a few pita chip pieces or crumbles - toasted to make them extra crunchy and warm, and a slice of cheese.
Snack S/C: 1/1

LATE SNACK: Some kettle corn (snack size from Orville Redenbacher).
Snack S/C 0/1

Daily S/C: 3/4

Week 13, Days 1 & 2, Diet with Dianna

Okay, I took off two sick days! Very yucky. On the good side, I lost another pound and an 1 1/2" in my waist. That is good. I can really tell a difference in my clothes...they are baggy. This is a good problem to have.
I won't bother you with food details. Just know that I did great and didn't eat hardly at all. I did eat, but only lightly. It is really to much ground to cover so I will ask for forgiveness. It's good to be back.

Week 13, Day 3, Diet with Dianna

Volunteer day! IT is good to get to volunteer after two weeks off. I am also feeling much better after my cold; almost back to one hundred percent!
I enjoyed eating lunch with my husband and daughter. It was a very good day!

Revelation Knowledge:
I am completely convinced that the cold I had would have taken longer to heal from had I not have been eating so well for the last month and a half. It truly only lasted less than forty-eight hours. Eating properly has increased my bodies capacity to heal at an accelerated rate. I don't have any other data to prove my theory except from my past experiences. It just seems to me to have been another positive notch in this diet plan! GOOD NEWS!

Breakfast:
One whole wheat blueberry pancake (leftover), one fried egg, bacon, and a small portion of hashbrowns. (Syrup and whipped cream too) Coffee - the usual way.
Breakfast S/C: 1/2

Lunch:
Small (halved) Chicken Caesar Salad from La Madeleine's and a half slice of whole wheat french bread.
Lunch S/C: 1/1

Dinner:
Turkey Burger (no bread) slice of cheese, two small kosher dill pickles and a very small helping of mac & cheese.
Dinner S/C: 2/1

Snack (only one today):
Half a Snack size of Orville Redenbacher  Kettle corn.
Snack S/C: 0/1

Daily S/C: 4/5
So very excellent! Go me!

Week 12, Day 7, Diet with Dianna

Well, today was a good day...but I'm not feeling any better...yet. This morning I cooked breakfast and made extra for the week. That is so helpful, not to have to cook something that requires a great deal of time, yet is very good. Whole wheat blueberry pancakes made with some soy flour, half & half, and almond milk, eggs  and other necessary leavening agents. Super to heat and eat!
I am planning on feeling better tomorrow. God is good to heal our bodies, naturally.

Vitamins:
I am adding this for one time only, but I take multi-vitamins daily, extra calcium for my bones, and one dietary fiber chewable tablet (just for days when I don't eat properly).
I also take medication for seasonal allergies and a low dose of estrogen to replace what is missing from a full hysterectomy, last year.

Revelation knowledge:
Preparing ahead of time gives us luxuries that we wouldn't have on a normal day.  I had some extra time today so I took advantage it and made additional pancakes to eat later in the week. NICE. Planning is significant and even though it is a time consumer...it is a time saver in the long run.

Exercise:
I took a nap for three hours. No exercise for me until I'm feeling much better.

Breakfast:
Whole wheat/soy blueberry pancakes, one egg fried, bacon, hashbrowns, and coffee. HUGE breakfast, but extra small helpings...You can still eat without overeating.
Breakfast S/C: 2/2

Snack:
None...had to run errands with my eldest son.

Lunch:
Half an Arby's roast beef wrap and a few french fries. I saved the other half for my sweetie to eat for lunch tomorrow.
Lunch S/C: 1/1

Snack:
None

Dinner:
My sons bought me a hot dog from Sam's Club. I ate half and shared the other half with my hubby!
Dinner S/C: 1/1

Daily S/C: 4/4
Excellent day for numbers...not so good for well balanced. :(

Week 12, Day 6 & 7, Diet with Dianna

Saturday:
This is a double posting. Saturday was busy but I have a cold and have been feeling, not so well. Sunday was equally yucky. I have head congestion and I am really low on energy.  Saturday, even though I was not at one hundred percent, I spent the day with my son helping him clean, polish and shine his newly purchased, used S.U.V.  It was hot, very hot, outside, but I worked anyway. Wow, did his automobile look great! The whole family rode in it to church. The air conditioner was ice cold and we all had ample room to ride comfortably.

Eating on Saturday was okay. The breakfast was, as we like to call it, roll your own. As each person got up they made themselves their own breakfast.

No Additional Revelation Knowledge.
No Exercise.

Breakfast:
Frozen whole wheat waffle, sugar free syrup, sugar free whipped cream, and a cup of coffee.

Week 12, Day 5, Diet with Dianna

Okay, I'm a day late...I spent most of Friday out in 107f degree heat, used car shopping with my eldest son. God lead us to the perfect one!
Now, eating on my diet was most difficult. I had all my meal bought from take out! YUCK, but thankfully I was able to get something that I could eat. The time table for eating was HORRIBLE. It happens sometimes and cannot be helped. Still, I did okay.

Breakfast:
Chick-Fil-A chicken and egg bagel. I only ate half of it and a few hashbrowns.
Breakfast S/C: 1/2

NO SNACKS....ALL DAY! DRANK A GALLON of water, at least! Maybe not that much but it sure seemed like it because we walked, and walked, and walked in the heat and sweat like professional basketball players. WHEW!

Lunch:
Griff's Hamburgers: BIG Hamburger...only ate half. Beef, lettuce, onion, pickles, and tomatoes. Removed the tomatoes.
Lunch S/C: 2/2

Week 12, Day 4, Diet with Dianna

Great day in the morning! Old saying...I don't rightly know what it means, just fun to say.  Went out to return a shirt at local mall, returned some borrowed books, did some book edits, cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner (twice I cooked dinner), and had a very quiet day! AWESOME!

Revelation Knowledge:
At the mall, we paused in front of the "Godiva Chocolate" store to check a voice mail on the phone. While I was waiting for my daughter to finish, I took a stroll down memory lane...in the chocolate store. IT smelled so good, just this side of Heaven. I looked and looked and looked...but did not buy neither did I eat! My revelation is what you ask? That I have courage (or stupidity but I choose the first one) and restraint. I was able to indulge my sense of smell and my memories and had a lovely time. I felt free from desire and temptation. It was a freeing experience and a boost to my self-esteem. HOORAY for me!

Exercise:
Walked some at the mall! Cool and fun.

Breakfast:
One egg sandwich made with Hungry Girl whole wheat flat bread, one egg, bacon and slice of cheddar cheese. I only ate half the sandwich.

Snack:
Flat pretzels and Babybel round of cheese.
Snack S/C: 0/1

Daily S/C: 3/4
Fabulous day!

Week 12, Day 3, Diet with Dianna

A more normal day, today; not completely back to normal but on the right track. I did cooked all three meals at home. I still had to get out and take my daughter to work and pick her up. She and I went to the mall after she got off work to look at Bath and Body Works new fall scents! OH, so sweet!

Revelation Knowledge:
Fiber eaten in food form is better than the fiber supplements. Don't get me wrong, it can be helpful for those who do not get enough fiber in their diets. Fiber taken in chewable or pill form can cause some discomfort or gas. Since I've cut back on my carbs, I am taking fiber supplements and I have had both issues, but I am going to only take half a dose, and if need be, I can always take a full dose when my body becomes accustomed to this form of fiber.

Breakfast:
One fried egg, two turkey sausage links, half of a whole wheat sandwich thin. Coffee the usual way.
Breakfast S/C: 1/1

Snack:
Sugar Free vanilla cookie.
Snack S/C: 0/1

Lunch:
A hot dog without the bun, two cheddar cheese chips, and a few jalapeno Sun Chips.
Lunch S/C: 0/1

No snack:

Dinner:
Homemade chicken noodle soup...I omitted the noodles from my portion. I used elbow noodles which are easier to remove than spaghetti style. And one biscuit.
Dinner S/C: 1/1

Snack:
Sugar Free Jell-O Pudding cup, chocolate and a cup of coffee.
Snack S/C: 0/1

Week 12, Day 2, Diet with Dianna

"Where are the photos of food for your blog?" you say. Well, I haven't really eaten anything new that requires a new photo, but when I do eat something interesting or new, I'll be sure to post it.
Starting next week, hopefully, I will add a new page to this blog. I will post some of my recipes for the delicious foods I prepare. Foods that are low in sugars and carbohydrates. Hmm-Delicious!

Revelation Knowledge:
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9.
This is true, the methods may be different or the components different, but it has all been done before. People are overweight, people are thin...people overeat and people don't eat.
My way is to be aware of the things I put into my body. I don't judge anyone; only myself. I am the only one that has to answer to God for my actions. I can only live by example. UP until now, I haven't been a good example with my eating habits. Now, I can change that and part of that change is confessing, forgiveness, and learning new habits. I write about my food and share it publicly for all to share in the successes and failures (hopefully not too many failures).

EXERCISE:
None, my husband and I spent the biggest part of the day at the hospital with my eldest son...he has a kidney stone! Painful. Praise God, he is home, resting, and recovering!

Breakfast:
One bowl of Fiber One Honey Squares with Almond milk (sugar free), coffee in the usual way.
Breakfast S/C: 1/1

No snack.

Lunch:
Chick-Fil-A chicken tender strips..two of them and a few waffle fries.
Lunch S/C: 1/2

Dinner:
Hungry Girl whole wheat flat bread with pastrami and turkey, cheddar cheese and dill pickle relish.
Dinner S/C: 0/1

Snack:
Cheese round (Babybel) and a few mixed nuts. Zero calorie Life Water.
Snack S/C: 0/0

Week 12, Day One, Diet with Dianna

New week, new goals.  I am down only one more pound and down 1/2 inch in my waist. Got a lot to go, but looking back, I have lost 14 pounds! That is the weight of one of my daughters dogs. As soon as the weather cools down a bit more, I will resume walking. I do not like the heat and humidity combination. I have seen people out walking and I think they are crazy! I'll make it up very soon.

Revelation Knowledge:
I read an article on Wikipedia about carbohydrates. It is very complex and goes into great detail. Carbohydrates is four dimensional and had a variety of different components that make up the entire Cm(H2O)n , but that is getting way to technical. All I really wanted to know was what was best to eat, avoiding most foods that add weight during digestion. I did find out in the article that our bodies (by design of the Heavenly Father, not mentioned in the article) can do without nearly all carbs (short for carbohydrates), and having some fiber. Medical science is still in its infancy. (I'm sure God gets a good laugh from our so called, expert knowledge, on the workings of the human body.) We haven't a clue how our bodies really work. We only have complex guesses or theories as to how they work. Just look back at history to what the scientist and physicians have said; passing their findings as fact; then a few years, or sometimes decades later, change their "facts" to contradict earlier fact. Confused? Yeah, so are they!

Well, regardless of the experts, I'm going to just eat a little less carbs and continue with the a low sugar consumption of 15 grams a day.  I will also reduce my carbohydrate consumption to 90 grams per day, instead of the 120. I don't want to remove them totally, as they seem to aid in the digestion process. I will do this until I can get more exercise, then I might increase my carb intake back to 120 carb grams a day. I'll just wait and see.

Exercise:
None officially...but I did all my household chores: laundry, mopping, cleaning the bathroom, grocery shopping...and wiping down the exterior of the car after we rinsed the bird poo off.

Breakfast:
One egg, two turkey sausage links, hashbrowns, and coffee (my usual way).
Breakfast S/C: 1/1

Snack:
None

Lunch:
Hot dog from Sam's Club (with mustard and a very few onions).
Lunch S/C: 1/1

Snack:
A few mixed nuts
Snack S/C: 1/1

Dinner:
Five meatballs, a slight coating of red sauce in which they were cooked, but I didn't scoop up the sauce, only the meatballs, some leftover hashbrowns from breakfast.
Dinner S/C: 2/1

Daily S/C: 5/4
Excellent Day!

Week 11, Day 7, Diet with Dianna

Sunday is now completed. Tomorrow I begin my twelfth week and I am well accustomed to this diet. I won't measure and weigh until in the morning. I know I'm losing because I can see it in my clothes.
This weekend was as busy as always. Sometimes I think that I would get more rest if it were a weekday.
A word of encouragement: I've made it this far...so the rest of the year should go the same...I can do this.

Revelation Knowledge:
Be flexible...even though a routine is best, I must get in some exercise, plan my meals, and get the rest of my "to do" list complete. My chores, errands, and every day life doesn't know about routines. So, I should say, my routine is not routine...Ha!

Exercise:
None, except for taking my dogs to get their annual shots...it was hot and I really worked up a sweat just getting them all loaded into the car...get the shots...and return. No a/c in the truck and that made it worse.

Breakfast:
My sweet daughter cooked me a waffle with sugar free syrup and whipped cream. Coffee.
Breakfast S/C Total: 1/1

Lunch:
One chicken tender-fried and leftover from Friday night dinner, broccoli, and a small helping of mashed potatoes. NO BREAD.

Dinner:

Very good day...for number. Not so good day for eating properly.

Week 11, Day 6, Diet with Dianna

Praise God, we had rain this morning! It has been over two months since we've seen precipitation. Texas has been in an extreme drought. The rain today was so very welcomed.
This weekend is our volunteer weekend at the church. Our schedule will be crazy and so will our eating times.

Revelation Knowledge:
I was getting dressed this morning and I thought about my clothes and how they hang loose. It's a good feeling and I don't want them to be tight, ever again. It isn't really a revelation, but an awareness.

Breakfast:
My family ate cinnamon and orange rolls. I had a whole wheat waffle, one egg, and two slices of bacon and a cup of coffee. I was completely satisfied and content to have it, too.

Week 11, Day 5, Diet With Dianna

Super day, today! My son and I got a lot of book edits done. We stayed at home and really concentrated on knocking out some serious edits on his book. I really enjoy working with my family. I have the greatest kids; I am very blessed.

Revelation Knowledge:
Cravings: I have them from time to time, but not like I used too. I enjoy a hot roll or a piece of chocolate, but I don't go overboard and I don't have them very often. Even after I've eaten them, they aren't nearly as great as I had made them out to be in my mind. Call me crazy, but my mind has been re-grooved. Basically, I am wiping the hard drive and loading new and improved software. (You techies out there will like this one.) This is a good thing. REALLY!

Exercise:
Rubber band muscle toning. 50 reps on each arm and some Yoga stretching.

Breakfast:
One pan fried egg, two slices of bacon and on whole wheat (small) waffle with sugar free syrup and sugar free whipped topping.
Breakfast S/C Total: 2/1

Snack:
None...not hungry and I worked through to lunch.

Lunch:
Pan seared turkey and pastrami slices, two slices of cheese-pan seared, and two small dill pickles.
Lunch S/C Total: 0/0

Snack:  None...I worked through to dinner.

Dinner:
Two small vegetable spring rolls and my kids had chicken tenders and hot rolls. I ate one of each. BUT I GOT TOO FULL!
Dinner S/C Total: 2/3

Snack:
None...too full.

Daily S/C Total: 4/4
Good numbers. I could have eaten more fiber but some days it's okay to be low. Just not all the time. Well balanced is best!

Week 11, Day 4, Diet with Dianna

Glorious Day! We almost had rain, today! Just the sight of gray clouds was inspiring! Also, had a "girl's night out" with my daughter. We headed out for a fun evening at the church where we attend. It was Gateway Church's 'Pink Night, Cirque du Laugh. Awesome aerial acrobat, interesting slight of hand magician, and the funniest christian comedian - Michael Jr. We attended the evening's event with over 3700 other women in the D/FW Metroplex. Just fabulous!

We ate dinner at Jason's Deli before the festivities (Hmm-SO Good!), and then we had a super-duper time full of laughter, Afterward we bought souvinenirs, and drank coffee. Truly an invaluable, worthwhile, fun evening with my daughter! Thanks Britt for going with me!

Revelation Knowledge:
You can have fun and diet too! No matter what the event, you can have fun without busting the carbs and sugars. Going out doesn't mean you have to lose your wits and cave in to the temptations. The event had Italian Ice, chocolate Dove ice cream bars, caramel corn, and animal crackers.  I was able to resist eating any of it and we opted for frozen coffees. I had a sugar free mocha made with unsweetened soy milk! IT was super delicious and I had fun, too.

Exercise:
Walked and marched in place for twenty minutes! Too hot outside and I couldn't go swimming. It worked.

Breakfast:
Whole wheat waffle, sugar free syrup, bacon, and two fried eggs.
Breakfast S/C Total: 2/2

No snacks.

Lunch:
Cheese wedge and some beef jerky.
Lunch S/C Total: 0/0

No Snack:

Dinner:
Jason's Deli salad and two mini corn muffins.
Dinner S/C Total: 2/3 (I figuring high for the dressing and topping)

After the show Snack:
Sugar Free Mocha with Soy Milk
I figure it had some sugars
Snack S/C total: 2/1

Daily S/C Total:  6/6
Over by one on the carbs, but I had a super good special occasion! Not bad, anyway!

Week 11, Day 3, Diet with Dianna

Another day in paradise! Still working on book edits with my youngest son and that was one of my day's highlights. There are other details of  my day that were frustrating and I chose to ignore them by leaving the house and working away from home.
I did cook homemade pizza. THAT is something that I chose to eat...two slices...but WOW, was I full afterwards. I planned to eat a one slice, but I caved in to the temptation and ate two. I saved enough carbs to have them, but in hindsight, I should have stopped at one. Oh well! They were delicious!

Revelation Knowledge:
I realized today that I didn't go to food for comfort. I did, however sit down and do book edits with my son, write out my frustrations, go grocery shopping, and listen to Praise music and some music from the era that I grew up in. This is a great revelation! I didn't have to eat food for comfort. I didn't blow my diet by eating everything bad for me. Woo-hoo! I'm making progress!

Exercise:
None (not good)

Breakfast:
One diet blueberry pancake, sugar free syrup, one fried egg, one turkey sausage, coffee.
Breakfast S/C total: 2/2

Week 11, Day 2, Diet with Dianna

Tuesday - I got some of my chores finished but not all of them. I had a great day, diet wise. I didn't eat any carbs for breakfast and only a few carbs at lunch. Dinner I had the most carbs, but still my carb count is down! I am going to kick this diet up a notch.

REVELATION KNOWLEDGE:
I can do anything I put my mind to, (with the help of my higher power, GOD, working through me). I don't want to fail so I plan to succeed. It is in my mind to be a success and I've been at this too long now to throw it all out--basically scrap it! NAH! not happening!

Exercise:
Mopped and waxed the floors twice, again. No official exercise. I will do Yoga tomorrow and hopefully subsequently the next few days on a regular basis. I will start slow without stalling. I will find a routine that works.

Week 11, Day One, Diet with Dianna

I didn't get enough sleep last night, my husband was ill. My "nurse's hat" was on so my adrenaline kicked in, but around 3:30 p.m. today, I got very sleepy. Later, I found my second wind, but I'm really tired now.

Well, today is Monday, and so begins my eleventh week. I am not "super-model" material, but I am still losing weight. Sort of like a HUGE iceberg has small pieces melt and slide off. It isn't enough for others to really notice, it's just that you can see some minor differences in it's shape. Well, I'm the same way. Most people cannot see that I've actually lost anything, except in my face and maybe my baggy britches. So, I didn't lose a significant amount this week. *Boo-Hoo*. I only lost one pound and about 1/2" in my waist. AHHHHHHHHHHH! I am so frustrated! I'm not going to stop though, but I sure wished I knew why I am not rewarded with more weight loss for my BIG efforts! WAHHHHH!
*I must keep going-I must keep going-I must keep going...*

Revelation Knowledge:
I am going to skip carbs all-together for the morning breakfast time. I found out today that it's okay to skip all carbs for one meal. So breakfast seems to be my most logical time and easiest time to skip.

Week 10, Day 6, Diet with Dianna

This was a great day. I spent it with my core family...no other family around. NICE! I got up and made breakfast for the whole family. AWESOME! We had homemade pancakes...regular for the guys, and my special whole wheat/soy flour with blueberries pancakes for the girls. Hmm! DELICIOUS!
My daughter and I had to dash out for a new fish tank, her's sprung a leak. YIKES! We also stopped and got the family car washed and we did the detailing ourselves, except that it was 103f degrees. I nearly melted.
To finish off the day we got to go to praise and worship! EXCELLENT! It was a great day...two of my favorite things: Worship the Lord and spend time with my family!

Revelation Knowledge:
You know when you think you shouldn't do something and you do it anyway? That happened to me tonight. My day was very busy and I skipped lunch and and didn't eat any snack until 3:00 p.m. and that was only a few Cheetos. After praise and worship I only had a glass of tea. By the time we were headed home, I had a tremendous headache and was sick to my stomach. I didn't eat as often as I should have! We stopped at Taco Bueno around 7:00 p.m. and I got two brisket taco wraps and some chips and queso. I ate one wrap very fast. Before I ate the second one, My spirit said to myself, "You better not eat that second one...you're eating too fast. Slow down!"...My stomach and my mind said, "Nah! Go ahead and eat the second one; You know your're still hungry." Both my stomach and my mind lied!!!!! At 12:30 a.m., I am still awake, burping and regretting that second wrap. I was deceived and I fell for it. I hope and pray that I will pay attention to the spirit person and not fall for the lies my head and stomach tell, ever again!

Exercise...
Hello! I washed the car, finished two errands at two different stores, mopped the kitchen, dining room & entryway twice and then waxed the floor twice, went to church...walked into church from the parking lot up to the second floor...a very long walk and two HUGE flights of stairs three times, walked back to the car,  times, waxed the floors for a third time! I think I was very active, today.

Week 10, Day 5, Diet with Dianna

Friday was a unusual day. My husband took a day off from work after returning home from a business trip. Even though it was a nice treat having him at home, the entire day felt like Saturday. I was thrown way off, because it just didn't feel right having him at home on a weekday.  My food schedule was thrown off like a normal weekend. My eating habits were off, but I stuck to the foods that I can eat!

Revelation Knowledge:
I just don't think I learned anything new. I did go out to eat at a place that I haven't been since I started my diet. Steak and Shake...which is one of my favorite places to get a sugary, creamy, yummy, thick shake. They even had a new flavor for the summer, Key Lime Pie. OH! LORD! I was very tempted to indulge...all the way. Fortunately my desire to lose weight was stronger than my urge to cheat. Thank the Lord!

Fried Egg, Bacon, Toast, and coffee.
Breakfast S/C Total: 1/1

Snack:  Nothing..we were out and about.

Week 10, Day 4, Diet with Dianna

Thursday was super busy. My youngest grid (grown kid) and I ran some errands, which took me most of the working day to get them accomplished. I got plenty of exercise without actually exercising officially.  I had to go to the mall jeweler to have some watches repaired. We arrived about forty-five minutes before the store actually opened, so we took advantage of the cool mall and walked the inside perimeter. Here in Texas we're in the midst of a major heatwave, so I was surprised at the number of folks 'mall-walking'.  I knew that there have been people using malls to exercise-walk , for years, but I believe the amount of people walking lately has risen in conjunction to the temperatures.  We had a good time. The air was cool and the music they played over the mall system was good, too.

Revelation Knowledge:
Whenever you have the occasion to get exercise, no matter where you are, take advantage of that; don't let these kinds of opportunities pass you by.  I knew that I wasn't going to have time to fit in exercise, yet the opportunity showed itself and I jumped at the chance. Ideas: Take the stairs, walk the interior perimeter of the store, take excursions that require you to do walking, park out at the end of the parking lot, ride bikes with your kids, swim with your kids, walk your dog...these are all great ways to add additional exercise without officially setting aside times.

Exercise:
45 min. walking the perimeter of the interior mall.

One egg, bacon, toast, coffee (my usual).
Breakfast S/C Total: 1/1

Snack:

Week 10, Day 3, Diet with Dianna

It was very, very hot, today; a whopping 113 degrees. In Little Rock Arkansas their temperature broke a record of 113 with a high of 114. We've had thirty-four straight days of triple digit heat.
Thankfully, we can end this heat wave by going to our knees and praising God for relief!
When it is this hot, food isn't what I want. I've become less hungrier.
Today, my daughter and I were volunteers in the offices at church and their offices are very, very cool! Praise God.

Week 10, Day 2, Diet with Dianna

111 f degrees was the high temperature outside, today! OUCH! It was hot. Along with that extreme heat comes an extended allergy season.  The pollen counts have been higher and therefore many people are suffering through symptoms.
I had a really bad headache today...you could say it was a migraine.  So I stayed inside and cool, resting most of the day. I ate very light, and I skipped my exercise due to pounding inside my head...

Revelation knowledge:
Success: there are many definitions for success. My definition is: Success is aiming for a goal, not expecting perfection, remaining flexible, and at the same time, striving towards the goal. If I make mistakes along the way, then I learn from them and it makes me stronger. I am successful because I have tried!

Exercise:

Week 10, Day 1, Diet with Dianna

Well, I am down by twelve pounds and my waist measurement is down by six inches. WHEW! This has been quite an experience. I am so glad that I have lost some weight and inches! I've got a lot to go...*sigh*.

REVELATION KNOWLEDGE:
When my kids were small, school age, Wade and I chose to homeschool our children. That was a daunting task. When I chose to do this I knew I was in it for the long haul; fifteen years. I couldn't look at the huge challenge ahead, but instead I took it one day at a time. If I even began to think about the enormity of schooling all three children and the length of time it was going to take, I would have crumbled and given up. By taking it a day at a time, I was able to focus on getting through one day. Each day I would breathe a sigh of relief, go to bed, and start again the next day.

That is how I have to approach this diet. One day at a time. I know it is going to take me, at least, a year...maybe longer to lose one hundred pounds. YIKES! I will celebrate my accomplishments and look back at the days I've successfully finished; working towards my goal, one day at a time.

Exercise:
Some beginner yoga: main standing mountain position, downward dog, raised hands, forward bend, but mine was more like a forward low bow...I don't have much flexibility and my hands are about a foot from touching the floor..., pyramid, and finally the side angle) I am sore after doing these simple positions...AHHHH!

Some beginner aerobics, mainly marching in place with some large arm lifts, side steps, knee bends, and arm circles and thrusts. I wasn't too out of breath, but I did get my heart rate up, considerably.

Breakfast:
One whole (top & bottom pieces) slice of Oroweat whole wheat sandwich thin topped with two teaspoons of seedless blackberry jam topped with whipped cream and two slices of bacon...and my usual coffee.
Breakfast S/C Total: 3/1

Snack:
NONE

I had two french fries, one hashbrown, and my sons two slices of bacon off of his sandwich.
